Playing Basketball in Lithuania!
Yes, it's true! I am officially a college basketball player. Now, I'll go ahead and admit that we probably wouldn't beat the Hoosiers of my favorite state Indiana, and we may not even beat my 7th grade Milford Middle School Warriors team, but I am playing college basketball nonetheless. I started practicing about 2 weeks ago and I had no clue that I would soon commit to daily practices and games and a lot of time and hardwork. At this point, I am glad that I have made this commitment. I am getting into the best shape I've been in since High School and I'm part of a team. That feels good. Anyway, we had 5 games this past weekend. Four on Saturday and I was exhausted. We won 3 of the games and got killed in the two that we lost. There have been some hurdles for me to overcome already. One is that 95% of the time the guys speak Lithuanian. That is cool because I learn a little and just get to sit there and try to figure out what is going on but it makes it hard to communicate as the point guard when guys really don't understand me too well unless I slow way down. I have learned a lot about being patient and not expecting things to go the way they would back in the States. I also can't lead in the same way so it's a challenge but it is another good experience for me to add to the long last I have had thus far. Two weeks into the thing and it's going well. We'll see how the next 2 months go! So long for now.
