Day 76...wow!

Well, I never thought I would be here, sitting at my desk on Day 76 of a 4 and 1/2 month trip out of the comfort of my own home to Easter Europe to Lithuania, a country of about 3 million people. I just got back from a 3 hour basketball practice that was hard. Really brought me back to the glory days at Wawasee. I then cooked myself some grilled cheese for dinner and I messed it up somehow. It stuck to the pan bad. Like seriously, is it even possible to mess that delicasy up? I did but it tasted amazing nonetheless. Now, I am just putting off studying for my midterm exams. I have one tomorrow and 3 on Thursday before I get to head off to Russia early Saturday morning. We are going to be gone for 9 days to Moscow and St. Petersburg. I am very excited about another great opportunity to see the world and experience another culture like this.

I can't believe I only have 58 days left. I have made plans to travel to Turkey and possibly Poland, Finland, or Czech Republic after Fall Break.

It seems like I have had countless conversations recently about many controversial subjects. Topics such as: How to do church? Communion and Baptism or no communion and baptism? Liturgical or more informal? What do y'all think of George W. Bush? "I think he is the antichrist" (no one says a whole lot of positive) "Taylor sounds like an oppresive school?" What is our role in missions: to convert or to serve? What am I doing with my life? Is homosexuality really a sin? How do you really embrace a culture? And the list goes on and on and on. To be honest, my worldview has been rocked a bit. I see things from a different perspective than when I left and I'm sure I will experience more and more as time goes on. My mind often goes crazy with thoughts but I have been constantly assured that God is in control and I just need to live a day at a time. I wonder how it will be to return to the US? I still look the same as I do when I left but a whole lot has happened inside of me. It'll be interesting. I hope you are doing well in your pursuit of whatever you are pursuing. I'm pursuing a stronger relationship with Christ and I couldn't imagine anything less! God bless you right now.

One more thing....copy and paste this link into your browser and check this out. By far, one of the funnier things I have seen in a while.

You come up with yet another priceless roommate picture. I am amazed at your photographic prowess. This pic should be sent to Skip as a tribute to your exemplary respect for the LTC. You are the crucible of all that encompasses human goodness.
